Task 5/6: Designing the Suite and Pre-Production Planning
Designing the Suite
This task is my plan to make the moving Playdoh NICKTOONS.
First of all I need to think where I am going to put each letters of NICKTOONS into different where they move to meet each other in the middle and form NICKTOONS that will reveal the TV shows to my target audience.
I did all that on my storyboard below
My first box shows what colour Playdoh I will use for my moving Playdoh NICKTOONS which will then split into two groups of moving Playdoh. Orange for NICK and Blue for TOONS. These Playdoh will appear from different places which they move to meet each other in the middle to for the NICKTOONS on a piece of yellow.
Pre-Production Planning
For the Nicktoons ident film making, the location will take place at Robert Clack

Task 4: Ideas Generation
Ideas Generation
Generating may seem easy but it really harder than you think.
I came up with an idea to make a Nicktoon Idents as they were kind easy to make than Cbeebies which everyone else are doing. So I decided to make a mind map where I fill the Mind Map with so many ideas that I can think of possibly.
First of all, you have to come up with so many ideas that you can think of wherever it a good idea or a stupid idea. Sometime most famous things like TV series or products come from stupid ideas that has been developed into the most popular and famous item the world as ever scene because it came from a stupid idea of an idiot.
So what I did was create a mind map with a lot of good and stupid ideas so that I can choose one of these ideas make my idents. As you can see I made so many ideas that is suitable for my target audience to watch during their TV show break.
After looking back on the mind map, I noticed that there are two colours that Nicktoons always uses and that Orange and Blue for their 2014-15 idents.
Then I decided to use the symbolic colours of Nicktoons which are Blue and Orange for Nicktoons which what I decided to do. Which is to do my very own NICKTOONS idents out of Playdoh that moves by using moving pictures book but onscreen.

Task 3: Understanding the design of a suite of television idents
Understanding the design of a suite of television idents
First Idents - These are the very first idents of Disney Channel UK from October 1995 until February 1997. The idents were based on a simple shape of the head of Mickey mouse.
Bubbles, Fireworks, Paint Splats, Trumpets, Sparklers, Winter and Christmas
Red and Blue - From February 1997 to 30 April 1999, the idents feature red and blue objects, forming the logo irregularyly with the Walt Disney's signature font in red and the Channel Text in Blue.

Discoball, Raindrops, Pumpkins, Computer, Laboratory, Clouds, Chrome Blod, Spotlights and Soap Bubbles.
Also, custom logos for specific programmes (and occasionally Disney's theatrical releases) are also made, such as;
Grapevines to promote A Bug's Life, Map for Peter Pan, Greek Pot for Hercules, Sunset for Lion King 2, Lawn for Home Improvement, and Rose for Beauty and the Beast.
Bounce and Ribbon - From March 2003 to September 2011, the Disney Idents changed to the Hip design package (which replaced the 1997 Disney Channel on-air look in the U.S.) voiced the channel's kick start into the new millennium with a message of friendship to the family viewing audience of the 21st century. Moreover, Disney Channel started using a series of celebrity bumpers still in use, featuring live-action or animated characters often drawing characters often drawing the Disney Channel logo using a glow stick.
On January 2007, Disney Channel kept the 2002 logo, but the hip look was replaced with new idents and graphics, which feature a ibbon swirling around until it morphs into the logo. On 2010, new mini-idents were produced for specific programs, such as Phineas and Ferb and Wizards of Waverly Place.
Mickey Mouse for Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse, Jake Thomas for Lizzie McGuire, Peyton List for Jessie, Perry the Platypus for Phineas and Ferb and the Yellow Logo for Disney Channel.

Task 2: Understanding the limitation of the television ident
Understanding the limitaion of the television ident
Typography
When creating idents, there can be limitation when it comes to designing idents. One of these limitations when it comes to creating idents, it typography is what is used to create idents. A limitation with the font is that if a TV channel uses swirly with their ident, not allfonts will translate properly this could then cause the typography to appear broken up or pixilated. This could cause the audience to not be able to read the text, as the font being used is difficult to read and not be able to take in all the information that is being displayed on their screen because of this.
Colour
Colour is really important for designing the idents as it is a key factor of recognising a brand. It may be more effective than a logo in some cases. For example, white and purple are used for E4 and red and white is used for BBC One. Certain colour are reflected by mood, personality, theme and style of a channel so choosing the correct colour needs to reflect on the channel.
Aspect Ratio
The screen aspect ratio has an effect on the overall design, as the designer will be producing a ident for a specific shape. For example, there will be people watching television on the computer, wide screen or HD television, which will use a 19:9 ratio which means that there will be a stretching the ident outwards and squashing it inwards and altering the look of the design. Also, this means that the ident may not actually be able to be shown in some cases.
Duration
The time length of the idents for the BBC news is different, some being shot as 5 seconds or 25 seconds but all still manage to express the same thing as the channel. The adverts tends to be longer when the channel is introducing shows that will be on later on that day.
Adhering to a desired tone
The ident for each individual channel has to correspond with the channel's genre or style. BBC Three has a comical animated to reflect on its humorous shows such as Family Guy and American Dad.
The right tone has to be set for the different target audiences.
For example, BBC Three's ident gives a bright and lively tone showing that it's more targeted to teenagers. It uses a mixture of bright lights, purple and blueish vibrant, fast and exciting music, movement, done with animated scenery and characters. The tone is created from the artistic taste of the ident such as the movement, colour, sound, etc.

Task 1: An Introduction to Television Idents
An Introduction to Television Idents
Identifying the Channels
The function of a television Idents is to identify the channel as the first idents in the world appeared on BBC as a commercial television which began to expand and show the viewers can be able to identify the different channels. Ever since the first idents was introduced, it has started to change with a great ideal and with the help of new technologies that have played a large role in their development. The first idents on BBC One was identified as the "Bat's Wings". Later in 1960, the first "BBC TV" logo paperer within a circle was introduced towards the viewers.
The most famous ident was "The Globe" was introduced ing 1963. It rotated as the BBC TV Logo along with a voice saying "This is BBC Television. One year later, BBC 2 arrived on TV.
Earlier in the 1990s, the emergence of the satellite television meant that TV indents were even more important to us while was watch our favourite TV shows on our favourite programmes.
An idents play an very important role when it comes to keeping a channel's schedule organised with the remaining time between one TV show to another TV show. The idents is also an ideal opportunity to provide the audience with a key information about programming that channel. With this information on TV, it will entice the viewers to continue watching that particular channel rather than them switching over to a different during the idents.
Non-commercials channels like BBC channels do both have the time between programmes that other commercial channels have, which is why they have an idents in between that short time break after each BBC programmes.
There are reason why idents are used in some channels which are:
To provide information
Promote a variety of information to the viewers
Regulate the scheduling and fill time
Also provide a break for the studio workers (news and sports)
When the channel BBC 4 arrived, it began to produce factual and informative programmes to it viewers. This initials a reputation to the viewers that this channel will only bring programmes about both History, Geography and Science to entertain and teach it viewers about the world's life.
CBBC and Cbeebies arrived and it began to produce a variety of children show to it viewers but each have a different style of production towards it viewers. CBBC produce a show that is suitable for children at the age 7-15 with a age suitable programmes that the children will like and Cbeebies produce a show that is suitable for children from 0-6 witch a age suitable programmes that will entertain the children.
When news about BBCiPlayer arrived, many of the people can go on to that particular channel to rematch their film that they have missed in the last seven days or more. It made people life a lot more easier and happier when they are watching their show online or on TV (it the TV have that kind of technology in it system).
An idents also helps to endorse the brand of a particular channel by allowing it viewers to become familiar with the logo and the style of the channel. As it is also a visual reminder of a particular channel and imprints the "brand" into the mind of it viewers which makes them more likely to return and watch the channel that the idents was showing them.
